Best Items for a Happy Perfect Baby

Best Items for a Happy Perfect Baby

Top 10 baby items that make life with a newborn an absolute breeze.

This post contains affiliate links, which means I make a small commission at no extra cost to you. Read the full disclosure here.

Just when you think you know it all, life throws in a baby that puts you to the test.

Being the oldest of 8 kids I assumed I knew everything there was to know about raising a baby. Like what bottle led to less colic, the correct way to swaddle a newborn, and the secret “A La Ru Ru” Mexican lullaby Tia sings to put the baby to sleep.

But we all know that no baby is the same. 4 kids later though, I’ve come up with a pretty solid list of things that will turn any fussy newborn into a happy camper.

Here are my favorite baby items that make for a happy – perfect baby.

  1. baby wrap

Currently 2 of my wraps are handmade and the other is a moby wrap. You can click this video to learn how to make your own!

After our 2nd child was about a year old is when a friend of mine introduced me to this lovely thang. But by that time it was too late so once our 3rd infant came along, I was sprung and she basically lived in my wrap until the day she learned to crawl.

  1. large muslin swaddle blankets

These are the best because they are breathable, stretchy, and snug all at the same time.

Not all muslin swaddles are created the same either! Some are scratchy and some are waaay too thin.

I found these bamboo muslin swaddles to be just the right amount of soft, silky, and stretchy. Amazon’s basic swaddles are also a good choice.

  1. pacifiers

The only pacifier I use now are the 0-3 months green avent vanilla scented or the regular 0-3 months dark green ones.

These colors are the softest variations for this brand which means you won’t suffer from sore nips if you are breastfeeding and your baby is more likely to accept this binki.

There seems to be a lot of hate around babies with pacifiers but I am definitely pro paci. For one, babies have a natural desire to suckle and the use of pacifiers have been shown to reduce the chances of SIDS by 90%! read more about that here.

  1. frida snot sucker

I can imagine the queasy look on your face now because that sounds absolutely disgusting. I felt the same way until I got a closer look at it.

The snot never touches you because there is barrier to make sure it stays in the tube.

This gadget is really a God sent item when you have a newborn with the sniffles. It’s heart wrenching to see your child struggle to get a full deep breath because their nasal is clogged up

The Frida Snot Sucker will get it cleared up in seconds.

  1. a heavy blanket

A heavy blanket helps comfort baby during nap or sleep time because that little bit of weight makes him feel secure and loved.

For this we use a crocheted blanket that grandma makes but you can get a custom blanket made from this cute shop, Turtley Tangled. I have personally made purchases from her before and they are always flawless.

This organic cotton knitted blanket from Earthloop is the one Baby Forest uses when his crocheted blanky is in the wash.

  1. britax convertible carseat

In 2018 we learned about the high infant fatality rates with babies in newborn-carrier car seats. Ever since then we ditched the newborn-carriers and only use the britax convertible carseat. It has enough padding so baby is comfy and is the only carseat you’ll need from newborn (even premie) up to 8 years old but has a shelf life of 10 years.

  1. automatic manual breastpump

This is only if you are nursing your baby.

The Bumble Bee Breast Pump has helped me keep up milk supply by leaps and bounds.

You just attach it to whatever side you are not feeding on and it pulls milk out which also makes your body think it needs to produce more. I’m never worried if my baby is getting enough milk because this helps me keep an excess amount on demand.

Attach it once and let it do the rest. The option with this stopper is definitely recommended to avoid crying over spilled milk 😉

  1. baby bibs

Any bib will do but here are the ones I use currently.

Keeping a bib on baby while he’s being burped helps keep any spit up from getting onto his clothing and stuck inbetween those baby neck rolls. Meaning less times being changed and less time the baby needs to be bothered.

  1. black and white baby toys

These are my current favorite because they are soft, squishy, have high contrasting colors, and make a light tinkling noise.

You don’t need to have a lot of toys around for your newborn but having 1 or 2 visually stimulating ones are great for brain development.

It also keeps them entertained for a few more minutes so you can do some of the other things on your list.

  1. zip up sleepers

Sleepers that zip up are such a game changer because it makes getting the baby dressed and undressed a cinch.

Imagine matching and buttoning 20 little buttons while baby is screaming? No thank you bruh.

I keep 5 – 7 of these in each size until the baby is either potty trained or out of 3T clothes.

We use the warm Carters sleepers during the cold months and these 100% organic cotton sleepers from Burt’s Bees when it starts getting a bit warmer.

Amazing Pumpkin Pie Yogurt Smoothie Recipe

Healthy Pumpkin Pie Yogurt Smoothie

This fall inspired pumpkin pie yogurt smoothie is a delicious way to indulge in some dessert flavor, without feeling guilty.

Where we live it doesn’t start to get cold until Winter time so baking warm bread and pumpkin pie isn’t something we can enjoy during Fall.

Turning a yogurt smoothie into a pumpkin pie is our way to stay cool but not miss out on those delicious fall flavors.

Before I go into the recipe let me take you on a trip to the past…*cue warpy video imaging and time capsule music*

When I was a little girl I was NOT A FAN of sushi so my Godfather would pack on the soy sauce for me to get me to eat it. After that, he would pour less soy sauce on my plate each time he would make it.

Little did I know, he was training my tiny taste buds until one day I could have the sushi without any added flavor at all and really actually enjoy it.

*fast forward to present day* when I use his method for everything new with my kids, including yogurt!

greek yogurt, brown sugar, pumpkin spice, and pumpkin puree displayed on a wooden cutting board.

WHAT IS GREEK YOGURT?

Greek yogurt and regular yogurt are made using the same ingredients but Greek yogurt is thicker because more of the whey has been strained off.

(If you strain the yogurt long enough then you can even turn it into cream cheese.)

WHY NOT JUST USE MILK TO MAKE THIS PUMPKIN PIE SMOOTHIE?

The probiotics in yogurt are what make this sweet treat HEALTHY!

DO I NEED GREEK YOGURT TO MAKE THIS?

No, I just prefer to make ours using homemade greek yogurt but store bought regular yogurt is fine to use also.

An Easy & Quick Thankful Turkey Homeschool Activity for Thanksgiving

November 23, 2021 //  by thetattooedmomma//  Leave a Comment

Thankful Turkey Activity + coloring page

A cute Thanksgiving activity for parents looking for a quick Thanksgiving activity to do with the kiddos.

assortment of colorful target brand crayons laid across a thanksgiving activity

I found myself disappointed while digging around for a quick homeschool activity to do with the kids for Thanksgiving.

The cute ones required payment and the others didn’t have enough of a learning aspect to them so I decided to create my own instead and share it with all of you.

Below you will find an adorable turkey activity that can incorporate social studies, language, creativity, and even a little science.

My 3 year old wasn’t able to cut everything on her own so I made a Turkey coloring page for her which I have also included as a free printable.

thanksgiving turkey coloring page that is already colored in with pink, blue, and brown crayon.

supplies

  • scissors
  • crayons
  • glue or tape

step by step guide

  1. print out your Thankful Turkey by clicking one or both of the options below.
thankful turkey free printable activity

  1. draw the wattle

educational fun fact: All turkeys have wattles but only the males gobble. The males use their special gobble noise to attract females.

I chose to not include the wattle in the printable so the kids learn this as one of the identifiers for a turkey.

line drawing of a turkey with a wattle being drawn on
  1. Color the rest of it in

I chose more traditional Thanksgiving turkey colors but feel free to really get creative with it.

line drawing of a turkey colored in using brown, black, and orange crayon

For funny reels and daily extras, follow me on instagram

  1. fill in the blanks

write down what you’re thankful for in the feathers then color those in too. It’s ok to go outside the lines because you’ll be cutting everything out in the next step.

  1. cut, assemble, and glue

cut your turkey and the feathers out then glue the feathers to the back of the turkey. It might be easier for the younger ones to just tape everything on.

once you put it all together, post it to instagram and tag thetattooed.momma to be featured in stories!

How to Make a Pumpkin Pull String Pinata – EASY

October 30, 2021 //  by thetattooedmomma//  1 Comment

How to Make a Pumpkin Pull String Pinata

Easy to follow step by step tutorial to make your very own Pull String Pinata – pumpkin.

hand made pull string pinata decorate as a cute girl pumpkin with a purple tissue bow

Let’s cut the chit chat and get right into it. You can also scroll down for the printable how to.

SUPPLIES TO MAKE A PUMPKIN PULL STRING PINATA

  • cardboard
  • hot glue gun
  • scissors
  • pen or pencil or marker
  • box cutter or razor
  • masking tape
  • string/ribbon
  • rope (for the pinata handle)

SUPPLIES TO DECORATE A PUMPKIN PULL STRING PINATA

  • orange, black, and brown (or green) tissue paper
  • school glue
  • paint brush
  • water
  • mixing bowl
  • pink, black, and white cardstock
  • purple tissue paper (for the bow)

Step by Step Guide

  1. cut out shapes
    • trace then cut 2 pumpkin pieces out of cardboard. click one of the pictures below for a FREE printable template.

scroll to bottom for video how to

  1. 4″ strips for sides of pinata
    • cut out a few 4” wide cardboard strips – length doesn’t matter

cut against the corrugation because it will make things easier when bending the sides around the top and bottom pinata pieces.

  1. prep the masking tape
    • Rip off a bunch of pieces of masking tape then place them around your work area

This is not a “less is more” situation so go overboard because we will be using a lot of tape.

  1. Assemble Pinata
    • Take one of your top or bottom pieces then start attaching a 4” side piece using the pre cut masking tape.

To connect another 4” side piece, slide it in the back of the already attached piece then staple them together.

  1. Attaching the Rope
    • poke 2 holes in the top of the pinata to loop the rope through
    • cut a piece of rope, loop it through, then tie a knot at each end to secure it in place
    • give it a good tug to make certain it’s secure
  1. Strengthening the Pinata
    • Take a left over 4” side piece and cut it about 5-7” long then bend it into a tube and secure it with a piece of masking tape.
    • using a glue gun, attach the tube in the center of the piñata

Since this is a pull string pinata, it only need 1 tube.

  1. Attach the other top Piece
    • do this the same way you did the first piece by taping 4” side pieces until you’ve gone all the way around.

For funny reels and daily extras, follow me on instagram

  1. Decorate
    • glue mixture
      • make a glue mixture by combining school glue with water until it is about the consistency of pancake batter.
    • back piece
      • put glue along the edges of the back side of the pumpkin then add 2 layers of black tissue paper.
      • glue any excess tissue paper that is hanging over down the sides of the pinata.
    • front piece
      • glue orange fringed tissue paper to the pumpkin by starting at the bottom then working your way up 1 line at a time.
      • to make the fringe, cut the tissue paper into 4″ wide strips – length doesn’t matter. Fold the 4″ tissue paper strips in half then start cutting little slices from one end to the other on the folded side. Only cut about 3/4’s of the way up and try doing multiple pieces at once to save time.
      • once finished, trim off any excess fringe that is hanging over.
    • the pumpkin stem
      • use brown fringed tissue paper for the stem
  1. Decorate cont.
    • sides
      • cut 4″ wide strips of black tissue paper then glue them all the way around the sides.
    • the face
      • black eyes – I traced a ribbon roll (about 3 & 1/2 inches wide)
      • white specs in eyes – I traced a nickel and new pencil eraser
      • black mouth – I traced a half circle ruler then trimmed it down to fit below the eyes.
      • pink tongue – I free hand drew a half circle, glued it to the black mouth, then trimmed off the excess.
      • rosy cheeks – I traced a quarter
  1. Decorate cont.
    • bow (any color tissue paper)
      • cut a whole piece of tissue paper in half, discard one piece, then fold the leftover piece in half. Turn it long ways and fold it over itself until you have a folded up rectangle.
      • start in the center and pinch and fold the tissue paper back and forth to make it look like a bow.
      • tie a ribbon around the center to secure then glue it onto the pumpkin.
  1. Pull String
    • make 3 slits in the bottom of the pinata to form a flap then poke a bunch of holes into the flap for the strings to fit through.
    • make a huge knot in one of the ribbons so it can’t slide through the hole. (You can add some hot glue to it if needed for extra security.
    • slide the rest of the ribbons into the holes. Do not tie knots into these because you want these ribbons to be able to slide out of the holes easily.
    • Cut a small piece of cardboard then staple it onto the flap with half of it hanging off.
    • Fill the pinata with toys or candy and push the pull string flap back in place.

And that’s it! I would love to see what you created so tag me on instagram! @thetattooed.momma

How To Make Sourdough Pumpkin Banana Bread

October 1, 2021 //  by thetattooedmomma//  15 Comments

Quick Pumpkin Banana Bread with Sourdough Starter

A pumpkin twist on the classic banana bread – and just in time for Halloween! Great for sourdough discard but Long Fermented version included too.

sourdough pumpkin banana bread in a glass loaf pan topped with walnuts and brown sugar

All my kids are OBSESSED with banana bread – thanks to my husband showing them the viral banana bread at work video.

But Even though they never get tired of eating the same old recipe, I really do get tired of making it so I’m constantly looking for new ways to spice it up.

I am happy to say that this pumpkin version is my family’s new ABSOLUTE FAVORITE way to eat sourdough banana bread and it is so good, I’ve already made it 3 times this week!

sourdough discard pumpkin banana bread topped with walnuts on top of a olive wood cutting board next to a yellow fall kitchen towel.

Pumpkins have been the inspiration to all my cooking lately for a couple reasons. Most obvious, it’s pumpkin season.

But the biggest reason is we’re expecting our 4th baby, due on Halloween which has earned him the cute nickname of “Pumpkin Baby“. So I’m a little bit obsessed with all things pumpkin at the moment.

Even my kids asked me the other day “why does all our food have pumpkin in it?” – whoops!

sliced loaf of fresh out the oven bread

WHAT IS SOURDOUGH STARTER?

Sourdough starter is just flour and water mixed together then left to ferment. After it has become “mature” enough, it has the ability to make dough rise. In laments terms: sourdough starter = YEAST PACKETS.

IS SOURDOUGH STARTER BETTER THAN USING YEAST PACKETS?

This depends on what’s more important to you. Faster rising time or healthier bread?

If you use yeast packets, the time it takes to get your breads to rise is shorter. But when you use sourdough starter in your dough, it breaks down the phytates in the grains making it easier for your body to absorb as much of the nutrients in grains as possible. Here’s a link to a great article all about it.

DO I NEED A STARTER TO MAKE THIS PUMPKIN BANANA BREAD?

NOPE! In fact, you don’t even need yeast packets. I just like any excuse to use sourdough starter so I incorporate it when I can. The conversion without the starter will be in the recipe section for you. 🙂

Place bread loaf pan into preheated oven for 90 minutes. Check on it after 70 minutes by inserting a toothpick into the center of the loaf. If the toothpick comes out clean then it's ready! If not, continue cooking 10 minutes at a time until done.

Let it rest in the loaf pan on your counter top for 1 hour to cool before slicing into it.

Easy Corn Husk Doll Tutorial – Native American

Easy Native American Corn Husk Doll tutorial you and your kids’ will love while learning a little about Choctaw tradition.

5 Native American corn husk dolls. 3 male 2 female all with various colored hair ranging from white, black, brown, and orange.

These little dolls are the perfect STEAM activity for your kids. Although we didn’t originally start making these with the intent of it being a homeschool lesson, it sure did turn out that way.

Science: The kids were able to see cause and effect from when you dip the corn husk in water.

Technology: Learning how the Native Americans recycled every bit of the corn to keep their carbon footprint as low as possible.

Engineer: Little hands learning how to construct a toy from things around the house.

Art: Aside from building these traditional dolls, my older ones started seeing what other creations they could come up with. Planes, eagles, babies…all made from their imagination.

Math: basic counting skills -> 5 cornhusks, 20 pieces of hair, etc.

…and a fun, traditional story to go along with it.

Supplies

  • 5 corn husks
  • yarn (in any color you want the doll’s hair to be)
  • scissors
  • container of water

Instructions

Step 1. fan 4 cornhusks out onto your work surface.

Step 2. cut 20 pieces of yarn to use as the doll’s hair and place them in the center of the fanned out corn husks.

NOTE: It’s better to make your hair long to begin with then trim at the end if necessary.

Step 3. Using the corn husks as a tortilla, roll the yarn up like a burrito.

Step 4. Tie a double knot towards the top to secure the yarn and corn husks together.

NOTE: You should have a little stem at the top now.

Step 5. Pretend your corn husk is a banana and grab “the stem” then start pulling the corn husk flaps down – just like your peeling a banana.

TIP: DIP YOUR DOLL IN THE WATER FOR 3 SECONDS TO MAKE IT EASY TO MANIPULATE.

Step 6. Decide how long or short you want your doll’s head to be and tie your second knot.

Step 7. Take your 5th piece of corn husk and roll it up like a taco all by itself. Then tie a knot at each end to make the doll’s hands.

Step 8. Turn the doll to the side and split it in half. Then stuff the arms up into the body

Step 9. Decide how long or short you want the body to be then tie a double knot.

The First Corn Husk Doll – a Native American Tale

The first corn husk doll was made by the Corn Spirit. The doll was made with a beautiful face and played well with the Native children but the doll was told over and over how beautiful she was. Hearing this often, she began to become very conceited then started to treat the children badly that would play with her.

The Corn Spirit warned the doll not to be so vain but the doll didn’t listen. So to teach the doll a lesson about humbleness and humility, the Corn Spirit took the beautiful features away from the doll.

Now,  corn husk dolls remain faceless to remind people not to ever think they are better than others.

Bonus Story – The Gift of Corn

Long ago, 2 Choctaw men were camping along the Alabama River when they heard a beautiful but sad sound. They followed the sound until they came upon Ohoyo Osh Chishba, Unknown Woman, standing on an dirt mound. The men asked how they could help her so she answered with “I’m hungry.”

The men gave her all their food but Unknown Woman only ate a little then thanked them with a promise.

She said, “Tell no one you saw me and I will ask the Great Spirit to give you a gift. Then return here at the new moon.” So the Choctaw men went home and said nothing.

The next day they returned to the river as instructed, but Unknown Woman was not there. Instead, in the place where they had seen her, stood a tall green plant. That plant was corn and a great gift indeed.

Cast Iron Q & A

September 21, 2021 //  by thetattooedmomma//  4 Comments

Cast Iron Q & A

A detailed dive into the most frequently asked questions I get about cooking with cast iron.

So you want to make the switch to the cast iron but have heard nothing but horror stories? Trust me when I say…

Cooking with cast iron is the easiest pan to cook with because It requires very little cleaning, you can move it from the stove to the oven, and it only gets better with age.

scroll down for video

Cast Iron Q & A

Q1. I bought a pre-seasoned cast iron skillet. Do I have to season it and if yes, how often and how do I do it?

A1. Yes and no, you will do a MINI seasoning each time. Cook your food, rinse the pan out with some super hot water, set it on your burner to evaporate all the water, then rub any oil of your choice all over it.

showing the process of how to mini season cast iron.

Q2. Is there a special cast iron cleaner I need to use?

A2. No, if you are having a hard time getting something off your pan, scrub it with some salt and your regular scrub pad – no soap. After that, set it on your burner to evaporate all the water and rub any oil of your choice all over it.

Q3. How do I clean them?

A3. Rinse with super hot water, sprinkle salt in pan, scrub with your usual scrubbing pad – no soap, dry excess water off with a rag, set on burner to evaporate all the rest of the water, then coat the pan with your choice of oil.

NOTE: DO NOT USE EVOO (extra virgin olive oil) because it has a low smoke point and can become toxic.

Q4. Can I make soup in it?

A4. Yes, but NO. You can make anything in your cast iron pans but you shouldn’t make soup for 2 reasons. One, because boiling water in the pans for too long will pull a lot of your seasoning out from the pores. And two, because if you leave the soup in for too long, your cast iron will start to rust which will cause a metal taste in your food.

Q5. What size pans should I get if I’m just starting out?

A5. One 12″ pan and one 12″ fully cast iron lid.

NOTE: Don’t get a lid that has a screw top handle because it is really hard to make sure all the liquid has evaporated each time. If you don’t do it right, JUST ONE TIME, your lid will start to rust.

click any link below to be taken to that item. NOTE: these are all for Lodge 12″.

  • pan
  • lid
  • camping lid (the one I use)
  • glass top lid

for weekly cast iron cooking tutorials, follow me on instagram

Q6. Can I made acidic foods? Ex. spaghetti, chilli, pasta sauce?

A6. Yes, the only time you will have a problem cooking acidic foods is if you aren’t using your cast iron pans to cook NON acidic foods.

Q7. What foods can I not cook in cast iron?

A7. Any food that is MOSTLY liquid. Some examples would be: soup = no, boiling pasta = no, one pot hamburger helper = yes, chicken cobbler = yes.

Q8. Growing up my grandpa kept his in the oven. Does everyone do this or just him?

A8. A lot of people store them in their ovens so that the oil on the cast iron sets into the pores of the pan any time the oven is turned on. This is what would be called a “Major Seasoning”.

Q9. Can I stack them?

A9. Yes, I keep mine stacked in my oven or on my stove 24/7 and have never had a problem.

Some people will say no because the pans grinding together will destroy your “precious seasoning” but that’s not really the case. As long as you are oiling your pans each time, you won’t have a problem stacking them.

Q10. What about the possibility of getting too much iron from cooking with cast iron?

A10. The only time this would be a problem is if you have hemochromatosis which causes your body to absorb too much iron from the food you eat which then results in excess iron being stored.

If you are NOT hemochromatosis, then you have nothing to worry about.

Q11. What brand should I buy?

A11. Lodge, Wagner, Grizzly, or Griswold. These are my top 4 recommendations because they are thick and well made.

NOTE: I do NOT suggest the Walmart or Sam’s Club brand because they are not well made and crack very easily.

How To Make A Cocomelon Pinata

Step by step instructions so even the 100% beginner can make a beautiful Cocomelon TV Pinata.

cocomelon tv pinata and a number 2 cocomelon themed pinata.

Being Mexican-American means throwing big parties for your child’s first birthday. By the time my first born’s 1 year celebration came around though, we didn’t have a lot of money to be throwing on non-essentials.

One thing I was absolutely not going to budge on was the pinata – It’s tradition of course!

When I arrived to the local Mexican market, I chose 3 pinatas: a small, medium, and a huge one. Shortly after I would have one of my most embarrassing moments in my life. The guy told me the price and I had to ask him to put them back.

They were out of the budget and I was mortified!

I assumed they would be cheap because almost all of the parties I went to as a kid had at least 2.

If you’ve never been to a Mexican market before, let me paint you a picture.

The piñatas are usually hanging way up high – attached to the ceiling – only to be brought down with a long hook and ladder. The guy already had to go to the back to get the hook and ladder then move the ladder around to reach the 1, 2, 3 pinatas I requested.

I wasn’t going to purchase them so I made them. The first few could be described in one word…laughable.

But after much trial and error, I have created the perfect pinata and I want to teach everyone how to do it so you’re next party is a HIT. (pun intended)

SUPPLIES TO MAKE cocomelon pinata

  • cardboard
  • masking tape
  • rope or wire (I prefer rope because wire rips through cardboard when the piñata is filled too much)
  • razor / box cutter
  • scissors
  • glue gun

How to Make Cocomelon Pinata

  1. cut out shapes
    • cut out two 16 inch by 16 inch identical pieces of cardboard then round off the corners

The best cardboard to use for piñatas are the Costco carboard sheets because they’re the perfect thickness/thiness. They are usually stuffed in between the steel cages or within layers of product but if you can’t find any, just ask an employee for a SLIP SHEET – they’ll know what you mean.

Any cardboard will work though.

two 16 inch square cardboard pieces then the tattooed momma rounds off hte corners
  1. 4″ strips for sides of pinata
    • cut out a few 4” wide cardboard strips – length doesn’t matter

cut against the corrugation because it will make things easier when bending the sides around the top and bottom pinata pieces.

4 inch wide cardboard strips and the tattooed momma bending cardboard
  1. prep the masking tape
    • Rip off a bunch of pieces of masking tape then place them around your work area

This is not a “less is more” situation so go overboard because we will be using a lot of tape.

two rolls of masking tape and a table lined with pre cut masking tape
  1. Assemble Pinata
    • Take one of your top or bottom pieces then start attaching a 4” side piece using the pre cut masking tape.
    • To connect another 4” side piece, slide it in the back of the already attached one then staple them together.
    • Once you have those pieces connected, resume taping until you’ve gone all the way around.
pictures showing how to assemble the sides of a cardboard cocomelon pinata.
  1. Strengthening the Pinata
    • Take a left over 4” side piece and cut it about 5-7” long.
    • bend it into a tube and secure it with a piece of masking tape.
    • using a glue gun, attach the tube anywhere inside the piñata

Some piñatas only need 1 tube, but the bigger ones, like this one will need a couple more. It all depends how strong you want it to be.

  1. Attaching the Rope
    • poke 2 holes in the top of the pinata to loop the rope through
    • cut a piece of rope, loop it through, then tie a knot at each end to secure it in place
    • give it a good tug to make certain it’s secure
  1. Attach the other top Piece
    • do this the same way you did the first piece
    • tape top piece to the 4” side pieces using masking tape until you’ve gone all the way around.
adding the other cocomelon face piece to pinata using masking tape
  1. More Reinforcements
    • wrap masking tape all around the piñata as if you’re wrapping up a ball of yarn (you can skip this step if you don’t want a super tough pinata).
